Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand. You will not get the benefit of all of the hard work you put into your Personal Training session and other activities that we programme if your diet is not giving you the nutrients that you need or the right amount of energy.
When I refer to diet I mean this dictionary definition ‘the kinds of food that a person habitually eats’ and not this dictionary definition ‘restrict oneself to small amounts of food in order to lose weight’. For me habitually is the key word here. I advocate balance, realism and long term healthy lifestyle changes that become habit so that you can enjoy a delicious range of healthy foods that make you feel energised, satiated and nourished rather than opting for a short term restrictive diet which all to often ends in failure.
Nutritional advice and support is provided to all clients as part of your Personal Training package. This includes an individualised guideline energy intake, healthy eating tips and recipes and plenty of encouragement!
For those clients would like to better understand their nutritional requirements and how well their current diet meets this, I also provide a nutritional analysis service. As part of this, you will be asked to complete a food diary and using this information I will conduct an analysis, the output of which will be a thorough and detailed report.
Your nutrition report will detail your total energy requirements, requirements across all macronutrients (protein, carbohydrate and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and highlight any areas where your intake may exceed or fall below recommendations. This service includes a face to face session where we will go through the analysis and discuss strategies for optimising your nutrition to ensure you are getting a healthy balance across all of the nutrient groups.
